While campus has been quieter over summer, it’s still making noise in prestigious university-ranking systems.

Some two months after U.S. News & World Report tapped the College of Engineering as the third-best graduate engineering program in the country, the publication has named UC Berkeley the seventh-ranked university in the world.

After studying more than 2,200 universities, Berkeley was additionally named the top public school in the U.S. and the No. 4 research university in the U.S.

In April, U.S. News bestowed the top ranking in the country — public and private universities combined — to Berkeley’s graduate programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and environmental engineering.

Other programs with classes that DevEngers frequently take also scored well, including Public Health (No. 6) and Business (No. 10).
