The Development Engineering faculty are award-winning professors who do applied research in water and sanitation, agricultural engineering, climate modeling, mobile microscopy, human-centered design, remote sensing and monitoring, big data science, machine learning, economic development, and impact analysis. 

The Master of Development Engineering (MDevEng) and the Designated Emphasis in Development Engineering for PhD students (DevEng DE) are both offered by the Graduate Group in Development Engineering, an interdisciplinary coalition of faculty who hail from over a dozen top rated schools and departments, including the College of Engineering, the College of Natural Resources, School of Information, School of Public Health, Haas School of Business, and College of Environmental Design.
