Spring is finally here, and that means a host of local, national, and international observances around issues highly relevant to DevEngers:
- World Water Day: March 22
- International Day of Zero Waste: March 30
- World Health Day: April 7
- SF Climate Week: April 18–26
- Earth Day: April 22
Berkeley will be observing World Water Day tomorrow, with an all-day event full of talks, networking, posters, and panels. Berkeley Water Day: Managing Water Under Extreme Climates, from 9am to 4pm in Banatao Auditorium, “brings together students, faculty, researchers, and professionals to explore how advances in science, modeling, and monitoring are shaping more resilient water management strategies.”
SF Climate Week — the state’s largest summit for sustainability and climate solutions — hosts thousands of attendees and organizations and hundreds of events, including ones on battery-economy breakthroughs, climate finance, zero-emission freight, biomaterials, and a farmer-led regenerative-products showcase.
The School of Public Health regularly puts on events, and some during the week of World Health Day will focus on inclusion in public health. Keep an eye on Berkeley Events and the Blum Center’s events page for more events around the themes of health, sustainability, climate, water, and more!
